1. About us and these terms
1.1 These terms apply to all tickets bought from Sutton Courtenay Singers (“we”, “us”), whether online through our website or in person, for our concerts and Come and Sing events.
1.2 Sutton Courtenay Singers is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1061056. Money from ticket sales supports our charitable work of bringing music to the public.
1.3 By buying a ticket, you accept these terms on behalf of yourself and everyone using tickets in your order. They do not affect your statutory rights.
1.4 We may update these terms from time to time. The version on our website when you buy your ticket is the one that applies to that purchase.
2. Buying tickets, prices and payment
2.1 Ticket prices are shown in pounds sterling on the event page and include everything you pay to us. We do not charge booking fees.
2.2 Reduced-price tickets (for example, under-18 tickets) are only valid for the person they are intended for. We may ask for reasonable proof of eligibility at the door.
2.3 Payments made online are processed securely by our payment provider. We do not see or store your full card details.
2.4 Your order is confirmed when payment is complete and you receive a confirmation email. If you do not receive one within 24 hours, please check your spam folder and then contact us.
2.5 Tickets are subject to availability. Where an event is free but needs a place to be booked (for example, a lunch place), these terms apply to that booking as well.
2.6 Tickets may also be available on the door if the event has not sold out. Door sales are cash or card and may be priced differently from tickets purchased online.
3. Confirmation, admission and children
3.1 We do not issue printed tickets for online sales. Your name, or the order number in your confirmation email, is your ticket; please have it to hand on arrival.
3.2 Seating is unreserved unless we say otherwise. Doors normally open 30 minutes before the start time shown on the event page.
3.3 If you arrive after the start, we will admit you at a suitable break so as not to disturb performers or audience. Late arrival or non-attendance does not entitle you to a refund.
3.4 Children under 14 must be accompanied by a responsible adult, who remains responsible for them throughout the event. We are not able to supervise unaccompanied children.
4. Come and Sing events: additional terms
4.1 A Come and Sing ticket covers your place in the rehearsal and any closing performance on the day. It does not include music unless the event page says so; please bring your own copy of the score, in the edition stated on the event page.
4.2 After booking, we will ask you for your voice part. This helps us balance the sections.
4.3 Come and Sing events are open to singers of all abilities. They are informal, and no audition is involved.
5. Refunds, transfers and your right to cancel
5.1 Because tickets are for an event on a specific date, the 14-day cancellation period that applies to many online purchases does not apply to them.
5.2 We do not give refunds if you change your mind or cannot attend.
5.3 If you will not be able to attend, you are welcome to pass your ticket to someone else free of charge. Please let us know their name so we can update the booking. Reduced-price tickets can only be passed to someone who is also eligible.
5.4 Tickets must not be resold for more than the price you paid.
5.5 As a charity, we are always grateful if you choose to treat an unused ticket as a donation, but you are under no obligation to do so.
5.6 Where a refund is due, we will make it to the original payment method within 14 days. Refunds are limited to the price paid for the ticket.
6. Changes or cancellation by us
6.1 We plan our events carefully, but sometimes changes are unavoidable. We may need to change the programme, the order of works, soloists, accompanists or conductor. Changes of this kind do not entitle you to a refund.
6.2 If we cancel an event, we will refund the full ticket price automatically. You do not need to apply.
6.3 If we postpone an event, your ticket will be valid for the new date. If you cannot attend on the new date, tell us within 14 days of our announcement, and we will issue a full refund.
6.4 If an event has to be abandoned after it has started, for reasons such as illness, a venue emergency or severe weather, we will decide case by case whether a full or partial refund is fair, taking account of how much of the event took place.
6.5 We will tell you about any cancellation or postponement by email to the address you gave when booking, and on our website and social media.
7. At the event
7.1 Our events usually take place in churches and community venues. Please follow the venue’s rules and any instructions from our team or venue staff, including in an emergency.
7.2 Anyone whose behaviour is disruptive, abusive or unsafe may be refused admission or be asked to leave the event and the venue. No refund is due in that case.
7.3 Please do not film, photograph or record performances without our permission, and keep mobile phones silent.
7.4 We may photograph, record or live-stream our events for our records, website and social media. If you would prefer not to appear in a way that identifies you, please tell a member of the team on arrival and we will do our best to avoid it.
7.5 If you have access needs or need a space for a wheelchair or a companion seat, please contact us before the event, and we will do our best to help. The entrance and access to toilets at All Saints’ Church, Sutton Courtenay, are step-free.
8. Personal data
8.1 We use the details you give when booking (name, email, and for Come and Sing, your voice part) only to manage your booking, contact you about the event, and keep the financial records we are required to keep.
8.2 We will only send you news about future events if you have opted in. You can opt out at any time.
8.3 For full details, see our privacy notice.
9. Liability, governing law and contact
9.1 If an event is cancelled or changed, our liability to you is limited to refunding the price you paid for your ticket. We are not responsible for travel, accommodation or other costs you incur.
9.2 Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot be limited by law.
9.3 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
9.4 For bookings, transfers, refunds or access requests, please contact us.
