Calling all singers!

Calling All Singers – Join Sutton Courtenay Singers!

Love to sing? Sutton Courtenay Singers (formerly All Saints’ Singers) are looking for new voices. We’re a friendly choir with a great music director, and no audition is needed; just come along and give us a try!

We rehearse Fridays, 7:30–9:30 pm at the Matrix Arts Centre, working towards our Winter Concert on 6th December 2026: Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols.

The new season starts Friday 11th September 2026. Not sure yet? Come along to our Open Rehearsal on Friday 18th September 2026. No commitment required.

Come and Sing Messiah!

Fancy raising the roof of All Saints’ Church with Handel’s Messiah? Whether you’re a seasoned chorister or just love a good sing, join us for a joyful come-and-sing performance — no audition, no experience necessary, just bring your voice (and your score, if you have one; free loans available if not)!

  • When: Saturday 3rd October 2026, 13:00 (registration from 12:15)
  • Where: All Saints’ Church, Sutton Courtenay, OX14 4AE
  • Singers: £20 (£10 children/students) — includes score hire and refreshments
  • Performance: 17:00, free entrance for audience

Choir Open Rehearsal – Haydn’s Nelson Mass

Novello score of Joseph Haydn Nelson Mass

Join us in rehearsal on Friday, 18 September 2026, from 7:15 pm to 9:30 pm. (An earlier start than our usual.)

We’re a small, friendly choir that rehearses in The Matrix Art Centre, 15-17 The Nursery, Sutton Courtenay, Abingdon OX14 4UA

There is a subscription to join the choir, but you can attend two rehearsals before deciding.

We will be singing from the New Novello Choral Edition, so if you have a copy, please bring it along. Otherwise, we can lend you a copy for the evening.

Our concert will be on 6 December in All Saints Church, Sutton Courtenay. The concert also includes Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols, plus Christmas Carols with audience participation.

Autumn/Winter 2026

Novello score of Joseph Haydn Nelson Mass

We will be performing Haydn’s Nelson Mass and Britten’s Ceremony of Choirs (SATB, with harp) next term. Rehearsals will start on 11 September at 7:15 pm (a little earlier than our usual 7:30 start to allow time to distribute the music).

Full term dates and rehearsal aids will be made available on the member’s notes for the current term. (You will need to log in.) The performance date is 6 December (7 pm).

Winter/Spring 2026

This term we are singing two Mozart pieces:

  • Requiem K.626
  • Vesperae solennes de confessore, K. 339

We started rehearsals last night with great attendance. If you’d like to join us, we rehearse on Friday evenings, from 19:30 to 21:30 in the Matrix Arts Centre, Sutton Courtenay OX14 4UA.

Our subscription for the term is £85, but you can attend up to 3 rehearsals without obligation. New members to the choir currently receive a £10 discount.
